5 Days Safari in Queen Kibale National Park

 

Day One: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National.
Have breakfast to drive west from Kampala and have stops at the equator for photographs and then proceed to reach in the afternoon. Watch out for game enroute to reach and have lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon you may go for a walk in the Mweya Pennisula which will reward you with game like elephants, warthogs, bushbucks, bushpigs and others. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Budget Institute of ecology. 

Day 2. Game drive/ Launch cruise
Before dawn wake up and go for a game drive to view out the early risers and predators returning their hideout. This dawn drive offers you an opportunity to see Lions, Leopards, Giant Forest Hogs, Cape Buffaloes, Elephants, Defassa Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, Topi and Bush bucks and many more.  After the game drive return to the lodge for lunch and the later go for a launch cruise on the Kazinga channel into Lake Edward.  Watch out for Hippos and other animals including plenty of birds both residents and migrants. The boat ride will take you 2 hours. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Budget Institute of ecology. 

Day 3: Nature walk / Transfer to Kibale Forest
Have a breakfast and go for a walk in Maramagambo to visit the bat caves and also if you are lucky you may see rock pythons and cobras. After the walk you will have a picnic lunch in the forest and then in the afternoon transfer to Kibale forest reserve.
Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge / Primates Lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking /Nature walk (Bigodi Swamp)
In the morning have breakfast and then go search for chimpanzee in the forest. The park is know to harbour the largest number of primates in the country and therefore you should expect other primates like the grey cheeked Mangabeys, black and white colobus monkeys,  baboons and others. In the afternoon you will go for a nature walk in the Bigodi wetland; an initiative of the local community known for its rich diversity of birds and primates. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge / Primate Lodge Kibale.

Day 5: KIBALE FOREST - KAMPALA
Early in the morning have breakfast and then transfer to Kampala. You will stop at the equator for photographs and then you will reach Kampala in the afternoon
