5 Days Kibale Bwindi and Lake Mburo National Parks

 

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale / Chimpanzee tracking
In the morning, have breakfast to transfer to Kibale National park the home of primates. The park is known to harbour the largest number of primates in Uganda. It is a home to remarkable 13 primate species, although best known for its chimpanzees. You will drive to reach Fort portal in the afternoon have lunch and then transfer to the park headquarters where you will start the tracking. After briefing you will go for a guided nature walk searching for Chimpanzee. The walk in the forest will also reward you with other primates like the bush bucks, Mangabeys, bush babies, baboons etc. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge/ Mountains of the moon. / Primates Lodge.
Day 2; Transfer to Bwindi    
Early in the morning through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National park you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The park is known for its Gorillas although it also harbours plenty of birds making it a birders paradise. The drive will take you through the Ishasha sector where you might spot Tree climbing lions. You will reach Bwindi in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort, Buhoma community Bandas. 

Day 3; Tracking Gorillas
Proceeding breakfast you will transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing before you set off at 9:00 am through the tracks to search for the humble giants. You will go with packed lunch because it’s hard to determine how long it will take you to meet these great apes. However the time ranges between 2-9 hours depending on the movement of the giant primates. The activity is tiresome, it involves walking along steep hilly tracks however encountering these great relatives of man erases all the poor memories/ hardships you went through in trying to find them.  They are awe-inspiring! Dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest Camp / Buhoma community Bandas.

Day 4; Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
This morning you will have breakfast to transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. The park is an extension of the Tanzanian plains with plenty of antelopes including the Impala from which the Capital city of Uganda was named. You will reach the park in the afternoon to check in; in you lodge and then later go fro a canoe ride on Lake Mburo.  .Dinner and overnight at Mantana Tented Camp / Rwonyo Rest Camp.

Day 5; Nature walk / Transfer to Kampala 
This morning you will go for a game drive or nature walk in the park with a game ranger where you will see zebras, impala, African Eland; Africa’s largest antelope and others. After the walk you will transfer to Kampala. End of Safari.
