4 Days Chimpanzee Safari Kibale Lake Mburo (4 Days, 3 Nights)


Day 1 Transfer to Kibale
Early in the morning have breakfast to drive to Kibale National Park. The drive will take you about 5 Hours to reach Fort Portal in the afternoon and have lunch before driving to your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge/Rwenzori View Guest house/Primates lodge. (FB)

Day 2 Chimpanzee Tracking
Have breakfast and move into the forest for chimpanzee trekking. The forest is known to harbour the largest number of primate species compared to any other park in Uganda. Expect other primates like the phoestes, Red-Colobus, Blues, Red-tailed and grey cheeked Mangabey swinging through the forest. The walk through the forest will be guided to provide you with detailed explanation not only on primates but also on butterflies and small insects too. In the afternoon you will go for a guided walk in Bigodi Swamp to look for the different bird species, fauna and flora which are rare.  For birders expect birds like the Shining Blue Kingfisher, Blue Throated Roller and other rare species and also find the fruiting trees, which attract Pied Hornbill, Narina Trogon, Yellow Spotted, Hairy Breasted and Yellow-Billed Barbets. Day 3 Transfer to Lake Mburo  
In the morning have breakfast to depart for Lake Mburo National Park. You will have a stop at Agip Motel for lunch and then continue to reach Lake Mburo in the afternoon. The park offers excellent bird viewing opportunities with plenty of game too. The park is a home to the Impala from which the capital city of Uganda -Kampala- was named. In the afternoon you will go for a canoe ride on the lake Mburo which will offer you with plenty of birds and game at the shores. Dinner and overnight at Luxury Mantana Tented camp/ Basic Rwonyo Rest Camp (FB)

Day 4 Nature walks / Transfer to Kampala
In the morning you will go for a guided nature walk where you will be taken on foot to the bush to see Zebras, Impala, African Eland (Africa’s largest antelope!) and others In the afternoon you will drive back to Kampala to reach in the late afternoon.
